About

Chef Azalina Eusope is the chef and owner of Azalina’s, a reservation-only five-course tasting menu restaurant located in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood. Born and raised in Penang, Malaysia, Chef Azalina is a fifth-generation street food vendor whose cooking is deeply rooted in family tradition, memory, and hospitality. After moving to San Francisco over 25 years ago, she found comfort in recreating the dishes she grew up eating while adapting to a new country and learning English. What began as cooking for family and friends eventually grew into a business in 2010. Today, Azalina’s brings Malaysian cuisine to San Francisco through a personal tasting menu experience centered around bold flavor, heritage, and storytelling. Azalina’s has been recognized by the Michelin Guide, named to the San Francisco Chronicle Top 100 Restaurants, and Chef Azalina was named Eater SF Chef of the Year in 2023. Chef Azalina was also a 2024 James Beard Award semifinalist. Beyond the restaurant, Chef Azalina remains actively involved in the Tenderloin community and works alongside local organizations and city partners focused on improving the neighborhood for residents, workers, and small businesses. We hope you’ll visit us at 499 Ellis Street in San Francisco. Reservations can be found through the link on our homepage.
