Cartelier

Cartelier Patron

Preserve what restaurants create.

A menu is the most ephemeral document in hospitality. It changes with the season, the market, the morning — and the old version usually disappears the moment it does. Cartelier preserves them: source, hash, and date, so any evening can be read again.

Cartelier Patron · 2026

$100 a year, per venue.

Patron membership funds the Cartelier Archive — the crawling, parsing, verification, and permanent storage that keeps culinary history readable. Claiming your venue and maintaining an accurate record is free, and always will be.

Cartelier preserves them

Immutable originals

Every menu enters the archive as a preserved original document — content-addressed, hashed, dated. What you read on the site always traces back to it.

Attributed history

Corrections never overwrite the record; they create new, attributed revisions. Chefs, dishes, and accolades keep their dates.

Permanent access

The archive is public. Diners, writers, and researchers can read what was served, where we saw it, and when — for good.

Become a Patron

$100 / year per venue

Cartelier preserves restaurant menus and culinary history so today’s work remains accessible long after menus change. Cartelier Patrons help fund that archive.

The Patron mark

A ◆ Cartelier Patron badge on your venue's profile, dated to each year you support the archive — 2026, and every year after you choose to continue.

Badge for your own channels

Downloadable badge assets — light and dark, SVG and PNG — and an embed snippet for your website, linking back to your archive.

Priority archival processing

Menus and documents you upload move to the front of the preservation queue: parsed, verified, and published sooner.

A permanent record of support

Patron years are recorded in the archive permanently. A venue that supported preservation in 2026 holds that fact forever.

A richer historical profile

Enhanced timeline and history capabilities as they arrive — Patron venues receive new archival features first.

Future Patron programs

Access to Patron-only initiatives as the archive grows: annual printed volumes, city retrospectives, preservation reports.

What Patron status means

The Patron mark recognizes one thing: this venue supports the preservation of culinary history. It is a statement of patronage, in the oldest sense of the word.

It is not a rating, an award, or an editorial recommendation. Patron status never affects how a venue appears in search, how its history is written, or what the archive says about it. Recognition on Cartelier — stars, lists, accolades — is recorded from published sources and never issued, or sold, by Cartelier.

No restaurant ever needs to pay Cartelier to claim its venue or keep its historical record accurate.
