Fox & the Knife is an Italian enoteca in South Boston, opened in February 2019 by chef-owner Karen Akunowicz, who drew on a year cooking in Modena and previously ran the kitchen at Myers + Chang. Hand-rolled pasta anchors the menu — raviolo carbonara with guanciale, wild boar tagliatelle Bolognese, braised beef agnolotti del plin in roasted carrot butter — preceded by focaccia filled with taleggio, gnocco fritto with mortadella, and a broccoli Caesar. Guests eat along a bar that runs the length of the front room or in banquettes toward the back, a few steps from Broadway station; the Michelin Guide lists the restaurant as selected.
