About
Wa Shin occupies the ground floor of a residential high-rise at 222 Stuart Street, in Boston's Bay Village, where guests are seated around an L-shaped counter built from hinoki cypress imported from Japan. Chef-owner Sky Zheng, who trained under Daisuke Nakazawa at Sushi Nakazawa in New York, serves an edomae-style omakase built on fish largely flown in from Japan, opening with seasonal zensai before a run of nigiri dressed only lightly with citrus, a pass of the torch or a small garnish. The restaurant, which opened in 2024 and runs three seatings a night, is listed in the Michelin Guide as a Selected restaurant.
