Thomas McNaughton

Thomas McNaughton (b. 9 October 1983, Tabernacle Township, New Jersey) trained at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park and cooked in San Francisco at La Folie, Gary Danko and Quince, with additional European stages, before taking charge of the kitchen at Flour + Water, the Mission District pasta restaurant that opened in 2009. He was nominated for the James Beard Foundation's Rising Star Chef of the Year award in 2010, 2011 and 2013, and co-authored the cookbook Flour + Water: Pasta with Paolo Lucchesi (2014). He is a founding partner, co-chef with Ryan Pollnow, and CEO of Flour + Water Hospitality Group, whose operations have included Flour + Water, Flour + Water Pizzeria, Flour + Water Pasta Shop, Penny Roma and the Flour + Water Foods packaged-goods division, as well as the earlier Central Kitchen and Salumeria.
